गीतासार - The essence of Bhagvadgita

कर्मण्येवाधिकरस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।
मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा ते सङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि।

कर्मण्येवाधिकरस्ते - कर्मणि + एव + अधिकार: + ते

------------- अधिकार: - right

मा - never
फलेषु - in the fruits
कदाचन - ever
मा - never
कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा - कर्मफल + हेतुः + भुः + मा
------------- कर्मफल - fruit of work(result of work)
------------- हेतुः - cause
------------- भुः - exist, be
------------- मा - never
ते - your
सङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि - सङगः + अस्तु + अकर्मणि
------------- सङगः - association/attachment
------------- अस्तु - be
------------- अकर्मणि - in/with inaction

Meaning: Your right is only (in) the (your) prescribed work/duties.
Never ever (in) the fruits/result (of work)
(Let) never the fruit(result) of action be the cause of (your) existence
(Let) never your attachment/association be with inaction


In other words:
Your right is to work only,
Never ever to the results,
Let not the fruits of action be your motive,
Nor let your attachment be to inaction.
